WAY out of my comfort zone!!!

So Camie and I work with this guy!
IMG_9543
His name is Dan and he has LOTS of stories that he tells us all the time.  And according to him he grew up here!
imagesCAIHN0I4
And he loves to do farmy things like use a tiller.  Well one day he convinced me that I could use one too to till my front yard.  Probably doesn’t sound like that big of deal to most people but let me show you where I grew up

So this is where I grew up.  My man even teases me and calls me silver spoon.  Soooo needless to say I have never touched a tiller.  But I’m not scared.  It couldn’t be more scary than how my yard looks (grrr!)  So Dan brought over this little beauty Smile

I knew I needed to gear up for this challenge so I needed a few things so I gathered my safety goggles and my Ipod.  I wanted to make sure I didn’t get thirsty so I got my drink holder too.

So the yard was looking REALLY bad and full of weeds…ugh!
P1010116
And it only took and hour to do this to it!!!! Do you hear my excitement??? You know the yard was bad if it looks better all torn up!!

And I am sooooo proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone and it was soooo easy!
P1010123
Especially since I ended up paying my son to do it (probably because it truly was a little to out of my comfort zone and he needed money for Prom) Smile  I will keep you posted as the yard comes together. Not really sure what the next step is…I think I might have to hire someone????

Cam's Column

Do you ever have those days (or weeks, or months) that you feel so busy, confused, lost your brain or just mental? and don't even know what your supposed to be doing?  Yeah well that's how my life is MOST of the time.  Here is a picture to prove my multi-tasking life to you.

My daughter's softball games have started and my son is playing soccer (or on the team)ha and Twist of Dazzle is booming, I work a  full time job besides Twist of Dazzle.  So sometimes I don't know if I am coming or going, but honestly if I wasn't super busy I wouldn't know what to do with myself.  My whole life I have been a busy girl so I'm used to it!  Anyways the point of all of that is, I don't have an Awesome post planned out for yall.  Instead I decided this week to do something more simple and just show you pictures of things I am liking right now.  (I see others do this in Blog Land so here I go)

This funny and yes I mean funny blue eyed cutie.

My Iced Latte coffee with sweet N low

My IPhone and words with friends!
Finding  furniture from garage sales or craigslist and re-doing them.  This is a piece I got last weekend.  It's a old record holder.  Cool uhhh?

My new mascara!  Once I find a good mascara I don't want to change, but the lady at Walgreen's talked me into trying this one and I LOVE IT.

Checking the mailbox everyday. (usually it's just bills, but still fun)
My Chandelier for my porch!  I got this for Christmas and 2 months later my hubby finally hung it.

Spring and Summer.  So ready to wear the tank tops and flip flops.

I had to throw this one in.  My NEW rhinestone holder.haha  It's cute, spins and holds alot.

I hope everyone is having a good week.  See you next time.
P.S. my hubby is reading over my shoulder and making fun of me!

Finally the stairs are done!!

stairs13
Hi! Kristin here and I will be blogging for you on Thursdays. I promise I will get better as I do it more hahaha (hopefully) I’m soooo new to this so please be patient with me Smile
Well it has been a long time coming but the stairs are finally finished!! I know you can’t tell in this picture but these stairs are a nightmare! The previous owner did a REALLY bad DIY install. Each stair had some weird lip on it and each member of the family has fallen down them multiple times!!
stairs10
So out they came (they already look better!) I was trying to save some $$$ so I my plan was to leave the railing and just sand them and stain to match (do you know how much sanding goes into sanding each spindle??? TONS! Sooooo out they went and the treads were replaced.
stairs7stairs9
Ha! I would have been happy to leave them like this. But the rest of my Brady Bunch Family wouldn’t have it…they said I am to clumsy to not have railingsstairs5stairs 2stairs1
We LOVE them! And know nobody falls down them (especially me)

Cam's Column

Welcome to  My New Weekly column.
Not sure if my title is cheesy, but I'm going with it for now.  I thought I would start off with a room makeover.   We moved into our house in 2005 and have painted half of the rooms, except for my daughters.  She just turned 11 and wanted a bedroom makeover and informed us that her room was the only bedroom not painted. So guess what color she picked?  PURPLE!  She found a bedspread she really liked and we went from there.  My hubby was thrilled we were going to spend all weekend painting a purple room.

Here is her room before the fun begin. (I wish I would have taken a picture before we took everything down, ohh well)

Here is a picture of the walls patched and ready to be painted.  BORING

The kiddos both decided they needed to be apart of the painting!  (The one not pictured is 4)  Just get a visual for a moment of him helping.  haha

The wall is finally purple!!!  Time to decorate the room now.

The bedding and the walls look really good together. (even if your not a huge fan of purple)

This is what the walls really look like.  (taken with my cell phone)  She found this Marilyn Monroe poster and I framed it for her.

Ohh look it is Justin all over her door  (I remember when I used to tear posters out of my Teen Bop) You know you did too.

I think it turned out great and she loves it so that is all that matters.  I will wrap it up with a picture of my cute Harley dog. (he helped paint too)

Wish I knew how to make a signature.  Does anyone know how?

Something New

We have been thinking of ways that we can be more vocal and not just talk about our crosses (boring).  Not only do we have full time jobs, make crosses on the side, and have families, but we also like to re-do furniture, update rooms, have parties, hang with our friends, get in shape or just like to talk.  So we have decided that we will each have our own day that we will just talk or show you whatever we want.  We are trying to be cutesy and come up with  names for our day. ha  So stop back by on Tuesday to see our first post from Camie.

New Frames

We are so Excited about our new Frames.  They are fun, bright, and whimsical!!  They will be available for purchase soon.  We will have 2 different sizes to start with.  8x10 and 11x14 picture size.   The frames have 2 keyholes on the back so can be hung landscape or portrait.  We would love to have some feedback on colors.  What colors would you buy????

Here are just a couple of our designs! (and yes my hubby was real  thrilled to know his face was all over the Internet)

Congratulations to the Twist of Dazzle winner

Our new friend Aly over at http://www.alyblogs.com/  who has an awesomely funny blog that makes us laugh everyday, had a giveaway for one of our crosses!  We are excited to say that http://confessionsfromanimplusiveaddict.blogspot.com/ won our cross!  YAY, thanks to all that participated in the giveaway.   We have had a couple other blogs interested in doing another giveaway, so we will let you know when and where.

Love checking the mailbox!

Well today I (Camie) had to run home at lunch to let my sweet bassett hound Harley out and while I was there I checked my mail and I am soooooo glad I did!  I opened the mailbox and the most beautiful thing was in there.  I have been waiting patiently for this little beauty!

Look how pretty the packaging is!! A bow and everything!

And it's just as pretty inside the box!

I love it! (Maybe not with my scrub top)

This beautiful piece was made by {Starfish}!      http://www.starfishblog.com/  She does great work and has some really pretty jewelry.
