Feeling Blue

My mom had this great old dresser for a really long time so when I went off to college she gave it to me for my first apartment. I finally decided to give it a little makeover. So I sanded it down

Then painted it with Valspars Exotic Sea

It was a little bright for my taste so I glazed it with Valspar Antiquing Glaze

My daughter loves how it looks in her room that we just painted. I will get a post up about her room redo as soon as it is complete. We are putting the final touches on it.

Can I just say how much I HATE carpet!!!!! I only have carpet in the bedroom and I am hoping one day that carpet will be gone. But until then I have come across this awesome little product (my mom’s housekeeper gave up her secret)

Seriously people this is the best stuff!! I have gotten out nail polish, grease from the garage, wine, paint, make up. You name it, it comes out. I pick mine up at Lowes. I used to find it at Walmart but mine doesn’t carry it anymore. Don’t walk people….RUN! (they should give me a free bottle for loving them so much ha! but I’m pretty sure they don’t even know who I am)

Curtains

We moved into our house in 2005 and curtains were the last thing on my mind. I just wasn’t sure what I wanted and plus they can be really expensive.

I decided right after Christmas, that I was going to get some curtains and finish my living room up. I have thought about making some, but I’m not really good with the sewing machine. I finally found some that I liked, and ordered them. I was wanting color and a pattern, since there really is not much color in the living room.

Well they came in and I LOVED them, but only one thing. They were over a foot too short. What was I thinking! I knew I needed the 96 inches, but for some Stupid reason I ordered the 84 inch ones. Ok so No biggie, I will send them back and get the correct ones, well guess what 84 is as long as they have. Now I'm feeling really dumb because I had been talking about the 96 inch curtains with my husband, and Krisitn, and even looking online at the sites that sell LONG CURTAINS. But NO I go and order 84. So I have 2 choices. 1. Send them back and find something else or 2. Add to them. HMMMM well I can’t sew, but Kristin assures me that I don’t have to sew them, I can iron bond them. So I head to the fabric store to find some fabric, knowing that I wouldn’t find the same fabric as my curtains. The lady at Hobby Lobby helped me find a neutral fabric that would match my curtains. And it was time to get busy!

I had to measure the curtains and then determine how much to add, plus a hem. Before I ironed them on for good, I pinned them all first. I wanted to make sure they were the right length. Then I took them all down AGAIN and ironed them together. Then re hung them babies!

Please only look at the curtains in these pictures, not the mess every where else. The mantle is one of my next projects.

As I was taking pictures around the living room, I spotted a frog in my plant. haha I was thinking what the heck is that. This little boy looks pretty suspicious.

And this shall be my next project.

Big Pimpin 2012

Alright everybody in 2012 Camie and I will be PIMPING our houses! Camie already made her list of what she is doing at her house (don’t tell her husband but I bet that list will grow ha!) My list is much bigger!! And I will be pimping two houses (his and her houses) Let me start with the her house

Her House (seriously where do I begin)

1. New chandelier in the entry you can read about the first one here

2. Laundry room will have the guts ripped out of it and redone. It will include new cabinets (since there are none) paint, chandelier, window treatment and some great accessories.

3. My master closet is seriously going to be soooo awesome there are no words to describe. My closet is huge and already has a refrigerator in it (yes you read that right). But I have REALLY big visions for this space.

4. New front door ASAP!

5. New floors and countertops in the kitchen (fingers crossed)

6. Closet makeover in daughters bedroom

7. Bedroom makeover for my daughter Hannah

8. New curtains and accessories in the TV room

9. Garage is getting stripped and painted and pimped!!!!!

10. New bedding in master with new accessories and a new DIY headboard

11. New patio (it’s done and will get a post soon) will be getting new furniture and bling.

12. painting the interior doors black. Already started and you can read about it here.

13. fireplace redo (fingers crossed)

14. Painting the kids bathroom cabinets and getting a new mirror, countertop and faucets.

15. Couple of window sills need to be replaced (thanks to our Mastiff Semper) his big fat head and slobber destroys everything YUCK!

16. New fence

His House

1. Master bedroom redo. Will include new bedding, paint, curtains and accessories.

2. Our son Derreck’s room at this house will be getting pimped. All new furniture, paint and accessories

3. pool deck will be resurfaced (this is a BIG DIY project people! so excited)

4. new furniture around the pool and accessories

5. master bath is getting new paint and light fixtures and the old mirror will come out and be replaced.

6. Living room will get new furniture (maybe, we will see) but it will for sure get new curtains, paint and accessories and we will be coming up with a cool idea to cover a big built in tv hole…. gawww why do builders do that!

I must love torture! Because I am going to try to do all of this (yes these are all DIY projects) while working full time, having two in drivers ed, getting ready for our oldest sons graduation and 18th birthday, planning birthdays for the two turning 16, buying cars for those 16yr olds and then sending Cole off to college after graduation, and working on Twist of Dazzle. WHEW!!!!! OMG!! HA!! Pretty sure there might be a few posts about drinking lots of wine while doing these projects.

My friend Aly at Analyze This is starting a Product of the week Linky party with Tiffanie. How fun! So I thought I would join in. My product of the week is Prime Time foundation primer from Bare Minerals.

I have never used a primer on my face before, only on my furniture. haha (I know I'm so funny) But the lady at Ulta talked me into it when I decided to give Bare Minerals powder a try too. At first I was thinking, NO way will I pay 20 something dollars for a small bottle of primer, but I have changed my mind. I LOVE IT. I use it every morning before I put on my make up. My face in now flawless.

Valentines Wreath

I told you I would be back with a New post pretty soon. I have a bunch of projects going on around my house, but I wanted to go ahead and get something NEW on my front door since I had to put all my Christmas decorations up. When I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday I picked up Pink pipe cleaners, pink mesh, Hot Pink Boa, black and white ribbon and a metal heart. I didn’t really have anything in mind, but figured I could come up with something.

This is what I came up with. It took me all of 10 minutes.

It is kinda hard to tell it’s a heart, and I cant decide if it’s big enough for my front door. Don’t be surprised if you see another Valentine front door post from me. (this one might find a new door to hang on)

Hello My friends. I hope everyone is having a great start to 2012. I’m ready to get this party started. I have a few goals that I would like to share with everyone. Hopefully by doing that I will keep to them. (since I don’t show a lot of my family, I would add some to this post)

Camie’s Goals for 2012

1. Be a better blogger. ( I know I know I say this every year) But I am going to do it, by golly. I want to do some kind of project each week and blog about it. (I see Kristin is already 2 ahead of me) Since there is 2 of us that run this blog, there should be NO reason we don’t post at least 3times a week, instead of 2 times a month. haha

What was Santa thinking!

2. To get Healthy! Like many others out there me and my husband are wanting to work on our image and get healthy. We signed up for Team Beach body and are doing the 90 day challenge. My goal is to at least do some kind of activity everyday and stay under 1300 calories. I really don’t have a BIG number in my head, but would like to fit in a size 6-8 comfortable. Depending on the Jeans I currently wear a 10-12. Our challenge started on Jan. 2nd and ends April 1st. Wish us luck, because I really really want to do this.

This is at my parents house. My mom puts her trees up high so her dogs don’t PEE on them. GAWW I know!

3. I want to be a better mother. After working all day at work, coming home helping 2 kids with Home Work,( one whom has ADD/ADHD and is a 6th grader) picking up the house, fixing dinner, cleaning up kitchen, bathing kids, reading books, working out (now), I need to work really hard on my patience. (I am aware most moms do the same thing as I do, I'm not saying I'm the only one that does so much) But I do catch myself yelling more, getting frustrated with HW, mad because everyone leaves their stuff everywhere, etc… So my goal is to be more patient and try not to raise my voice as much, and walk away when I am mad.

4. Be a better wife. Many times I think to myself “ I wish he would do this and that” But in all honestly he does more than most husbands I know. He does all the Laundry, helps with everything that was in the last paragraph, takes the kids to school, birthday parties, helps with my Twist of Dazzle business, projects around the house and more. It’s just that I'm type A and like things done quickly and right then. haha I'm going to work on that, and appreciate all that he does for me.

5. Work really hard to get out of debt. My goal is to have 2 bills paid off by the end of the year. I would love to do the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace Class. We talk about it every year but haven’t tried it yet.

6. My goal is to start buying Christmas gifts NOW! I say every year that I'm going to start earlier but I never do, and it sneaks up on me so fast.

7. Twist of Dazzle- me and Kristin have not talked a lot about this, but have already decided to only sale on FB and ETSY. We NO longer have our crosses in boutiques. We love making stuff so don’t want to quit doing it all together, but are always brain storming on new Items we could bring to Twist of Dazzle.

It’s the fist project of the year!! Seriously I was sooo scared to do this! It’s a big commitment! So back in August I was reading Emily Hewett’s awesome blog A Well Dressed Home. She has amazing style! She did a post on painting her interior doors and I fell in LURVVVVV! I haven’t been able to get them out of my head. Sooooo New Years Eve night and about 3 glasses of wine on board I did it!!

It’s official all the doors are going black. It has really transformed how the space looks and I couldn’t be happier.

2012 Has Arrived!!

Happy New Year!
The new year is here and 2012 is going to bring really big things!

Unfortunately for my sweet sister 2012 has not started out so good. She broke her leg in two places jumping on the trampoline with her beautiful kids and is having surgery on Tuesday! I feel terrible for her. She is an amazing mom and so active. This is going to be a tough one on her. We are praying for a speedy recovery for her!!

On a better note, BIG things will be happening in our house this year!

Our oldest will be graduating from High School in May and heading off to college!(yes I am crying as I type this) I can’t hardly believe it. Not really sure how I will make it through graduation. I will be purchasing a TON of waterproof mascara.

Derreck and Hannah will both be getting their drivers license! Holy moly! I will be leaving this up to Robert because I barely made it with Cole and now we have two at the same time! We are going to need a bigger driveway for all the cars haha!

For me and Robert we are going to soak up every minute of everyday! We have the best family and don’t want to miss a minute of it!

Kristin’s Christmas Home Tour

I know I am a little late getting this posted, but I guess better late than never. My decorations this year was very minimal. Normally I am not ok with that ha! but this year I am COMPLETELY ok with it. My entry way has our big tree and some glitter and feathers. I just love the feathers on the wreath! Looks really pretty at night when it is bright with twinkling lights

Once again I will apologize for the ridiculously bad pictures (I’m totally known for it). In the back living room off the kitchen I have a smaller tree that I have to put up on a box to give it height haha! Poor little tree I hate to get rid of it but it is definitely way to small for this house. I will be heading out tomorrow morning at 5am to hit the sales for a new big tree whoo hoo!!
That is little Jojo trying to get in the picture. I love all the over the top trees I have been seeing so I started this year small and will add to my collection in the after Christmas sales. I did the top of my tree this year in feathers and jewels and glitter sticks and I am totally in love! And our fire last night while I sat on the couch (I am totally sick with strep throat)

And last but not least I have to show you these awesome pictures of my sweet daddy. Every year as long as I can remember he has played Santa for all the neighbors when we were growing up and now for all his grandkids. It is so sweet to know that he played Santa for all our friends growing up and now he is playing Santa for their kids! All our friends beg him every year to come by and give their kids the same joy they felt when he came to their house as kids. Thanks daddy for making everybody smile!

Christmas around the house

I know Christmas is almost here, but I have been meaning to make this post for about a month now. So better late than NEVER. I love decorating for Christmas and that is why I usually start the week before Thanksgiving.

As soon as we get home from Thanksgiving this little guy is here and waiting for us. This is Linus our elf, and my 5 yr old thinks he is the coolest thing in the world. He has been pretty creative this year hiding around our house.

As soon as you walk into my front door, this is what you see on the door and in the entryway.

Not sure if you can tell but I made one out of burlap, and I think it turned out really good for my first time ever. So I will perfect that by next year. I have some goals in life, don’t I??

12 days of Christmas

Every year at work we have a door decorating contest, and we have a theme to go by. This year it was the 12 days of Christmas. They told us we could do it any way we wanted, soooo we decided to be funny. Let me first tell you that Kristin and I work at a surgery hospital in Denton, TX. Kristin is an Ultrasound tech and I am a MRI tech. We work right be side each other everyday and that is how Twist of Dazzle was created. Anyways, we decided to be funny and do the 12 days of Christmas in the Radiology department. Actually our door looks really plain compared to the previous years, but we wanted to go simple this year. If any of you have had any kind of Radiology exams done you will get some of the lines, and if not just laugh anyways. (Don’t forget you have to sing the song as you read it)

We thought it was funny, BUT the front office didn’t. haha So we had to take the sign down. They said it would scare the patients. WHATEVER!!! Bah Humbug So our door is just wrapped with paper and a bow. Merry Christmas to us.

ohhh and on a side note. Look at this adorable Tree my good friend Amber made me out of burlap. Isn’t it the cutest.

Glitz and Glam Blog Swap….YES PLEASE!!

Whoo hooo! Our package came! We were soooo excited to participate in our first Blog Swap. We love reading Raven and Lindsey's blogs, these girls are a riot. You must head over and check them out.

We had a rough start with this swap. The first blog we got teamed up with suddenly fell off the face of the earth….bah hum bug! We had our gift ready and everything, so we emailed Lindsey and told her what happened and she was on it fast! We were teamed up with this awesome chick named Katie that was thrilled to come in at the last minute and save the day. Katie blogs over at Katie Lately. She is super cute and just made a big move and it sounds like she is loving it. We are really excited to get to know her better and follow her new life.

We waited to open this gift at work so we could do it together.

We received some O.P.I polish (which we love to go get Mani's and Pedi's) Kristin took the polish and the nail bling. (We can share the polish) “). I(Camie) have been wanting some bracelets with gold in them, so I snatched them up ASAP! We each got a sparkly reindeer ornament and we hung them on our stockings at work. We love all our gifts. Thanks Katie!!!!!

Work Christmas Party

We had our work Christmas party this past weekend in Downtown Dallas and decided to take the Dart down there, It was definitely an experience. Let’s just say the Freaks come out at night. haha

How do you help change a life of a child

We are all lost in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season and I am guilty of it too. Wondering how to get everything the kids want but don’t really need. I got a reality check today when I got home from work and it made me stop and take a deep breath and cry.

I had every intention to sit down tonight and blog about my cute blingy Christmas mantle and how cute I was wrapping my presents this year, but my daughter Hannah was busy doing something else that made me stop in my tracks. She was busy trying to figure out a way to help a family stay together in a terrible tragedy.

Indulge me for a minute as I give you a little history. My daughter dated a boy named Jake for a short amount of time. He is a great kid and they have stayed friends. He and his younger brother moved here from a small town in Texas because his father had passed away from cancer after he had already lost his mother. The boys moved in with their grandmother and a year later she died from breast cancer. The boys then moved here to live with their uncle and a few weeks ago he died from lung cancer!!! The aunt has two girls of her own and can’t afford to raise the boys without her husband.

How is it possible that I am worried about how to make my presents cute this year when these boys have now lost another family member and won’t even have a Christmas? How is it possible that this is their path? How do I help as one person? Where do you even begin? My heart aches for these children, losing everyone they love. Christmas seems so meaningless when there is a friend of my child's that has nothing and is wondering where he will even be living. Christmas is about giving so I have a lot to think about how my small family can make a big difference for this family in need.

Deco Mesh Wreath completed

I finally got around to making my Deco Mesh wreath. I bought this wreath in Canton, which is a fabulous invention, and helped so much.

I used red and white candy cane mesh and gathered around the wreath and used the wire to wrap around the mesh to hold it down. I did this color all the way around, then I took a thinner green mesh and did the same thing.

I wanted to add some ribbon to it, and I decided on white with black polka dots. Then I just added some different ornaments and fill ins to make it look fuller. This wreath is hanging on my back door.

I really love the Deco Mesh wreaths. I think I will need one for Halloween too.

Thanksgiving this week

It’s crazy to think that Thanksgiving is in 2 days and Christmas will be here before you know it. I still have 3 projects to finish, 3 parties to get ready for and lots of shopping to do. (ohh and all the orders we need to get finished and shipped in time for Christmas) Luckily this past weekend I talked my husband into decorating. I usually wait till the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I wanted to work on it slowly and not be rushed! I love how my tree turned out this year.

My hubby thought the stuff coming out the top was a little crazy, but I like it and its staying. (don’t worry it’s not crooked anymore)

On another note, we are not taking anymore orders after December 4th.

Christmas ornament wreath

Ok! It’s time. I have been wanting to post this for over a month, but thought I should wait till at least Halloween was over. Last year I found the coolest ornament wreaths online and wanted to make one. Since I didn’t have time before Christmas, I decided my goal would be to collect ornaments after Christmas for cheap and then start it in June of July and have it done by Christmas 2011. Well I did it, and I LOVE it. By far the coolest wreath I have done. (and actually hope it gets pinned one pinterest) haha

This is what I started with, and decided to wrap strips of felt around the wreath. I didn’t want to take the plastic off the wreath, but I was afraid the hot glue would melt it. So who knows if it made any difference!

I did not have a pattern, or certain colors picked out to use. I used foam balls, plastic balls, and a few glass balls. Pretty much whatever I could find. First I wrapped some ribbon around the wreath, so it would be ready to hang. Then I started gluing in the inside of the wreath and then putting them on the outside.

I then started filling in the gaps and had to go to smaller ornaments.

I used A LOT of balls, I'm not exactly sure how many, but did have to take a couple trips to Hobby Lobby for more.

I pretty much think my wreath rocks, and can not wait to hang it on my mirror above my fireplace.

I'm so ready to decorate for Christmas. When do you start decorating???

My Front Door Frame

Wow is all I can say. I linked up my Ornament Wreath to a few blogs and I was featured in 3. How Exciting. I felt like I was famous for a few hours. haha I’m going to show you my new piece I finished last night. We are in full force here decorating for Christmas, so actually I have a lot to show but will wait for future posts. I found this on pinterest (bluecricketdesign.net) and thought this would be cute for my front door instead of a wreath.

I had a frame that was UGLY blue so I decided to paint it red . My frame is bigger than 11x14 but I didn’t measure so I don’t know exact. (I guess I could measure, but I’m sitting on the couch covered up and don’t feel like getting up) I know Lazy!!

I picked up some big bells from Hobby Lobby and a few different ornaments that I liked, and used ribbon that I already had at home.

I tied different ribbon on each ornament and bell and then tied it to the top of the frame. It took me a few times to get it the way I like.

Then I made me a big bow and tied it to the top and trimmed up the ribbon hanging to the length that I thought looked best.

Here it is on my door all finished!

Marine Corp Birthday!

Today is the Marines Birthday! They do so much for our country and keep our families safe everyday. Today is a day to honor them. Be sure to hug a Marine today…..I know I will! As many of you might know or if you don’t know, I am in love with a wonderful Marine.

I grew up a Navy brat and my daddy was a great soldier and is an amazing father

That’s me as a little girl with my mom and dad and then us all grown up.

I fell in love with a Marine and now he and my dad can’t stop the trash talking (in a loving way ha!) Marine this, Navy that! hahaha! Makes for funny holidays but truly great memories!

He is a great Marine, and an amazing father and I love him very much and we are so proud of him and thankful for everything he does for us.

I can not believe that Halloween has come and gone. I'm thinking about asking my husband to get my Christmas decorations down. My belief is, if you are going to work so hard on decorating for Christmas why not put it up early. I’m sure he wont go for tomorrow, but we will see. Plus I have an Awesome Christmas ornament wreath to show you.

Twist of Dazzle has been doing a lot of brainstorming, about our little business. We love making crosses but are wanting to branch out some. I have been buying frames from garage sales and was given a bunch from a neighbor, and decided to look on Pinterest, and brainstorm some ideas. Here are 2 different ways I came up with to use up my frames. What do you think?? The earring holders are for my daughter and her best friend for Christmas, and the memo board is for sale. I am working on a chalkboard frame now. Stay Tuned for that.

Halloween Lovin

I’m a little late posting this since today is Halloween…haha! But better late than never I guess.

I love Halloween!!!! All the kids are sooo cute and think so hard about what they want to be. It is an absolute riot to me to see everybody take on an alternative personality for one night. So for a few short weeks my entryway takes on a new personality too. The pic is terrible!!!!! Mostly because my house caught on fire recently and the lights in the entryway still don’t work. Nothing over the top this year but I love it! Definitely won’t win any blog decorating awards haha but it’s all I can give this year since the firefighters trampled through everything!

On a super fun note Camie and I entered in the pumpkin contest at work today and we won second place….whoo hoo!! We will take it! Look how cute our pumpkin turned out…..sometimes we even we amaze ourselves… ha! Give us some pumpkin love my little pretty's. Yea that was stupid I shouldn’t post that but tonight I looove stupid

Just a little bedside project and a fire!

Sooooo a couple of months ago a dear friend at work lost her mother and her family had an estate sale at the house. Camie and I headed out to support her and see if we could bring anything home. I have been needing a tall bedside table for my son Derreck’s bedroom. Bingo!!

This thing weighs a ton and is solid wood! So I did a quick little makeover on her. And she went from drab to super mod fab (talking like my son there) Check her out!

Needs a little work on the accessories but it sure does meet the needs of my son. It was super easy I painted the base in Valspar's Medium Grey and the top was done in a flat black and then distressed. I then glazed the whole thing in Valspar’s Asphalt Glaze.

If you read our blog you might remember the post about my chandelier that took FOREVER to get hung. Weeeelllll months later (this past Friday) my beloved chandy that I am sooooo in love with shorted out and caught my house on fire! We are all safe and the only major remodel will have to be in a space I never visit…..the attic! Gawwww so frustrating I have to sink money into a space I never see. But the important thing is the kids are safe and the house was saved thanks to our wonderful fire dept……thanks guys!!

Our trip to Canton

Me, Kristin and one of my friends headed to Canton early Saturday morning. We were there right when it opened and it was Awesome. The weather was beautiful for a LONG day of shopping. We each had a list of stuff we were looking for, and I think we did pretty good accomplishing our goal. Our car was pretty full, good thing we had a big vehicle to bring everything home, I would have hated to go back next month and pick it up.

Here are a few of my good finds.

I have seen some really awesome projects made with old windowpanes, so I was on a mission to get one.

The other thing I really wanted to come home with, was some old shutters to redo. I did find one and I also picked up some cabinet panels for a couple projects.

I bought 2 of these thinking I would paint them and put them in my living room, but I think they are too small. Sooo I am going to put them on my back porch. This will give me a reason to get my porch all fixed up, and the concrete stained.

I have a sewing machine, but don’t really have time or know how to use it very good. But I found these for only a $1.00 a piece. They are nice material and would be perfect for throw pillows. Now who wants to make me some??

Last year I made a Mesh ribbon wreath, but it pretty much stunk. So when I was in Canton and saw these wreaths everywhere and how they were using the mesh ribbon on them I knew I needed one. (I'm not sure if that is what the ribbon is really called but that’s what I call it) But I posted a picture just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about. So hopefully, I will be able to make mine better this time around.

I also got a cute dress, necklace, and some new scrubs!

Kristin and my friend Amber both came home with some good finds. Maybe someday we can get Kristin to write a post about it.

IF you ever get a chance to go to Canton, you should go. I could go every month if I was rich and had time.

Fall Mantel

I love Fall and I love getting down my decorations and decorating and knowing that Christmas will be right around the corner. Every year I try to do something different and make new crafts for my house. This year I wanted to make a burlap pendant for sure. Since I scored LOTS of burlap at a garage sale in March for only 5 dollars, I thought I would pull it out and give it a try.

I bought this wooden template at hobby lobby for $1. I traced it onto my burlap and then cut them out.

Since I have soooo much Burlap, I decided to spray paint it orange instead of buying more. The spray paint covered it really well and looks great.

I used my silhouette to cut out FALL and use for stencils. I used acrylic paint to make my letters.

I laid them out onto brown ribbon and hot glued them down.

Here is my finished mantel ready for fall. It seems like I keep adding to it or rearranging it everyday. But I really like how it turned out this year.

I'm posting about my entryway collage wall AGAIN, because I tweaked it and finished my my new Chandelier.

(I was in need of an ugly big brass chandelier to paint, and found many to choose from at the resale shop. I figured black would be my best choice.

(When I turned it on, my husband informs me its a Fire Hazard because its so bright) haha But I love it, and it puts off a lot of light compared to my other one.

New lighting and wall finished! Its really hard to get a great picture of them both.

record table makeover

A few months ago I stopped off at a Estate Sale and saw this OLD Record holder. I thought it was really cute and not sure what I would do with it, but hey for $10 bucks I could find something,Right???

So after a “few” months in the garage, I knew what I wanted to do. I would make it match my dresser that I re-did for my Living room. Remember this??

So here is the outcome!!!

It looks so good and now my corner has some decorations and not just a corner.

Im so excited it’s not in the 100’s anymore and that fall is right around the corner.

Cowboy Wreath

In my last post (a long time ago) I had mentioned that I love wreaths and I am addicted to pinning them on Pinterest. I have many pinned that I am wanting to do, but decided to do the material wreath first. I just finished my Cowboys wreath, and made this one a little different than the last material wreath. This one was a lot of work, and I ran out of fabric and had to add Toile just so I could finish it up! I already have it hung and ready for the game on Sunday. Go Cowboys!!! I have been very busy with other projects so I will be posting more soon!!

I love wreaths. If you were to look at my Pinterest you would see I have a lot of Wreaths pinned. I wanted to show you a few that I have made and a few that is on my list to make before Fall. There are so many projects that I want to complete so I really need to get busy. I can not believe it is almost August. So here we go. For St. Patrick's day, I decided I would make something to hang up. No I don’t go crazy with St. Patty’s but thought it would be fun. I want all the wreaths to be different, so here is what I came up with.

I bought a wreath, some glitter clovers, leis, and felt for the flower. Super easy!

I think it turned out pretty cute for under $10 bucks!

For the end of the school year I decided to make my daughters teacher a Steelers Wreath. (believe me this was hard since I'm a HUGE Cowboys fan) But for some reason I already had Steelers fabric from a previous project.

I did NOT measure these strips. I just got the scissors and started cutting. I tied each strip around the wreath and did that until the wreath was fully covered. I just added some ribbon in the mix of the fabric. This was really easy and her teacher LOVED it. It was so personal, and she loves the Steelers almost as much as I love my BOYS. Since football is a go, I will be making one of these for myself.

This wreath is currently on my door. I fell in Love with the yarn wreaths with felt flowers. I found many on ETSY that I wanted, but thought I would try and make one first. If it didn’t work out, I would then buy it. I used a foam wreath and wrapped yarn around it and every once in a while I would put a little hot glue down. This wreath was pretty simple to do, but kind of tedious and time consuming. I you- tubed how to make felt roses and then attached them onto the wreath. I had thought about making these to sell, but I don’t think I have the patience for doing a bunch of these.

This is my first wreath that I did at Christmas last year. I tied different Christmas ribbon around it, added some fur, and glued ornament balls on it to try and fill the spaces. I am going to add some more before I hang it back up this year. I had it on my front door and everyday I came home and a ball would be on the ground. It kept happening and I really thought someone was pulling my balls off(not literally) jk bad joke. But come to find out the hot glue was getting so hot from the sun shinning on it all day and the glue would melt and the balls would fall off. I was so mad!!! So as each ball fell, I would wire it back on. So before I use it again this year, I need to fix my balls. But I think it’s fun and I really like it.

I use foam, hay, wooden, and wire wreaths. It just depends what I have, what is on sale, and what I think will look the best. Ohh and guess what I saw on pinterest that I'm going to use next. A noodle!! Yeah a water noodle. Check it out. I'm going to make a huge wreath.

WE have been MIA the last few weeks. Summer is such a busy time, honestly when is it not busy for me? I am leaving this Friday for Colorado for a week with my hubs and kiddos and then 2 weeks after we get back the adults are going to VEGAS. YAY I love Vegas!! I'm not sure if I could live in Vegas, but I can defiantly go once a year and have some fun. Anyways, I thought I would show yall some frames that I have been making. We are not selling them, but I figured I could make some as gifts. I thought they would be great gifts for my dad, a friends birthday, and a graduation present. So by the time I got to the third one I was a pro. (well kind of) Stay tuned and I will show you the picture. I found some MDF frames at Michaels unfinished with glass. Painted them a few coats of paint and then started working on my silhouette machine. Man I love this thing. Kristin has been hiding this from me. No not really we have a cricut at my house and Kristin had the Silhouette at hers. I’m pretty sure the Cricut will be going on craigslist soon and we will need another Silhouette. haha This thing is AWEOME. Anyways, I made typography frames as gifts that were personalized for each person.

I think they turned out pretty good for my first 3 times of trying. But do you notice anything on the 3rd one?(graduation one) I didn’t even notice until I gave her the gift and started looking at the pictures I took of it. Did you figure it out? Well, I put HARD WORK on it twice and near each other. So I called my neighbor up and said I need the frame back! haha She said she didn’t even notice it and she probably thought I was Nuts. But I pulled one off and put bachelors degree on and it turned out great. I really do love the typography. It’s so personal and unique, and I think I will make me something!

Collage Wall

I have been wanting to make a collage wall in my entry way for a while. I have found so many ideas from blogs and off of pinterest, and here are a few that inspired the look I was going for.

I recently just finished a red entryway dresser and the wall behind it is massive and WHITE, and I really want to fill up the wall. I started by collecting anything not being used around my house, and a few things that I have picked up from hobby lobby and garage sales. I really did not have a theme starting out, I just knew I wanted some pictures, frames, a clock and mirror on this wall.   Here is the wall before starting. This picture doesn’t really show you how big the wall is, but the ceiling is 18 feet tall.

Here are a few of the items that I had to work with.   I bought this picture frame from a garage sale, but wasn’t in Love with the color.   I really wanted something that would POP. So I gave it a couple coats of Exotic Sea. (Valspar)

After I had everything painted the colors I wanted, I just started with the biggest piece at the top and went down from there. I did have a few empty spots that I had to find more things to fill in, but overall I think it turned out really good and I just LOVE the colors.

I couldn’t find a picture to use in the big frame nor could I find a spot to put a clock, so I thought why not put the a small clock on the frame. I think it looks pretty neat.

My daughter bought me this new black sconce from the sale aisle from Hobby Lobby and I like it better than the first one.
I have been taking pictures of the final wall for a few days and I'm still having a hard time getting a GREAT picture.   These are probably the best 2 I have. (We are in the process of finding a bigger chandelier for the hall to put off more light).

I still need to find a few things to put on the dresser, something small to put in the little bitty green frame and I'm going to put family subway art in the middle of the black frame. But overall I Love it and so does my family. I really like all the bold colors and since the wall is still white I think the colors look great on that wall.

I have been a little MIA lately. Camie has been doing a much better job of posting than me. My daughter has been dealing with some health issues and when I get home from work I just haven’t had it in me to post. I will save all that for another time. So on to my new fab over the moon wonderful dresser redo!!

Back in April Camie posted about our yearly garage sale outing. First stop I found this fab dresser!

It’s very traditional but I knew it would be awesome when it was finished. And I was right……LOVE IT!!! But before I could squeal in delight I had to sand it….bummer. I was just going to sand the top but it didn’t work out that way at all.

I went with Rustoleum Slate Blue and then put Valspars glaze on and I just love how it turned out. The mirror was my great grandmothers and I have had it for years. I’m still working on how to dress it up.

I really hope this will be the year that I take better pictures ha! Looks great in my entry and we just love it!

Frames

A while back we were asked to start making picture frames that were unique, fun and different. So we started brainstorming and had some cut. We love them, but haven’t really had a lot of time to really push them and get them going. So we figured now would be a great time to start. We have 4 different styles and 2 different sizes. (8x10 & 11x14) At first we were going to have set colors to choose from, but have decided that is too hard, and instead will try to make them custom and unique just like our crosses. Here are a few that we have come up with, and we are still brainstorming!! What do you think? Do you have any cool ideas for these frames?

As the daughter of a Navy man and the love of a Marine I know the importance of remembering the individuals that sacrifice for our freedom. We are so blessed to live in this country and I am so thankful for everything the military fights for.

That is me as a little girl with my mom and dad. My dad was about to receive his medals for his service in the war.

And this is me all grown up with my dad I guess it was only fitting that I grow up and fall in love with a Marine…Ha! (since my dad is a Navy guy) It makes for interesting conversation at holidays!

Tornados

I'm not sure where yall live, but we live in North Texas and have had a lot of Tornado scares this year. We have taken cover at least 6 times in my itty bitty hall closet. My house does not have a storm shelter nor do we have a good please to hide, so this closet is what we use.

(yes that is my cheerleading jacket in my closet from HS, FYI I graduated in 97)haha

It’s usually just me and my kids, because my husband “thinks” he is a storm chaser and needs to be outside watching it. He assures me when he hears the loud noise approaching our house he will run for shelter. I have been really nervous this year especially after the horrific storms that went through Alabama and Missouri. So after hearing all the talk on Monday about how Tuesday would be another day for big storms to pass through, made me worry all day. And boy were they right about it! We took cover 3 different times, and all 3 times my husband was playing tornado chaser. ;) When my TV and internet went out, all I had to check over and over was Facebook. Let me tell you my heart dropped when I saw a picture of a Tornado that a friend of mine that lives about 2 blocks away had posted. Luckily it never touched down, but I was really worried. Me and the kiddos waited in the closed for a while and I figured everything was ok or my hubs would have came a running. So we got out and I went outside to take a look, and Thanks to the storm chaser I married we have footage of the storm and a bunch of pictures. I could imagine what all these people are going through after being hit by a HUGE tornado when I was scared for my life just seeing this small thing that didn’t even hit ground. I am seriously wanting to look into some kind of shelter for my house!

Prom was Perfect for him

Do you remember my post about my son asking his date to prom and how much fun we had sneaking over in the middle of the night to give her a big surprise for the morning? Well I’m happy to say that she said yes and prom was this past weekend and the kids had a blast!

Cole and his girlfriend Tristynn looked so great!

The theme of Prom this year was neon so they had fun with Cole’s socks and fun sunglasses…….LOVE IT!

I guess you have to let them grow up some time. I have one more year with Cole at home. He will be a senior next year and then he will be off to college. I have no doubt that year is going to go soooo fast, so I am going to savor every moment that I get to spend with him.

Home for the weekend

This weekend we went to my home town for my cousin and her husband’s graduation from college. I was so excited for her to finally get to open her gift. I have been wanting to post about it on here, but I think she reads this blog sometimes, and I didn’t want to ruin the surprise. I am in LOVE with Subway art. I thought that would be a perfect gift for them since they are already married, and have a child. I found Word Whipped on Etsy, and loved all her stuff. I picked out a sign that she had on her site and had her put their last name and MSU(college they graduated from) to make it custom for them.

Now I want one for myself. I could probably make my own, but would rather buy from her, and get it done faster. They also have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/wordwhipped.

Mother’s Day Weekend

I had a great Mother’s Day! Unfortunately, I was not able to go home and see my mom on Mothers day, but planning a trip up there this weekend. When I picked Carson up from school on Tuesday he had a present for me, and was begging for me to open it, and not wait till Sunday. So as soon as we walked through the door, I had to stop everything and open his present. He was so Excited!

And this is what was inside! Foot soak crystals that they made in class, and a jar of notes of why his mom is special.

We took each note out and read them all. It was so sweet and I just love my gift.

On Friday his little pre-school had muffins with mom. We got to eat breakfast together and he gave me a rose. (and it is still alive) YAY

It was a nice weekend because we didn’t have a lot planned. We worked on projects around the house and yard, Carson had his last soccer game of the season, and we rested. On Sunday, I got to sleep in and then was showered with gifts from the kids. Faith was dying to give me my card. It was about 2 feet tall and she picked out and bought it on her own.(I'm pretty sure she liked it because it said freakin, and she knows we don’t let her say that) It was a funny card and so true.

Then they gave me my gifts. Some pretty tulips, WIK candles for my burner, dark chocolate, and a gift card to the coffee shop that I love to go to.

Then I finished my Mother’s Day off with a pedicure and manicure. It’s just what I needed. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day or got to spend the day with their mother.

Mother’s Day for me!

Mother’s Day came early for me this year! I got home from work on Thursday to find my studs car in the driveway at three in the afternoon. I was excited he was there and not at work, so when I walked in I was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of Tulips…my favorite!

I would have been thrilled with just that but my sweet sweet hunnee bought me all new leather chairs for the kitchen table that I have been dying to have!!!! I am beyond excited!!!!

I am so truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and I am so thankful for being given the gift of being their mom. My life would not be complete without them.

I also want to wish my beautiful Mom, sister and sister in law a wonderful Mother’s Day! My sister in law is having an awesome Mother’s Day, she is in Vegas!!! And we are keeping my sweet little niece for them…..love her!

Busy weekend here

Friday night me and Kristin went to Uptown Dallas to meet some fellow blog friends for dinner. I only knew ~~stalk their blog daily~~ 2 girls that I follow. And when I say know them, I mean only through a computer. But we wanted to go, so we could meet some NEW bloggers. We went to eat at Mattitos and it was pretty darn good. We finally got to meet these 2 girls that we follow and whom hosted a giveaway for us!

They were planning to go out afterwards, but me and Kristin decided to drive back home. We didn’t want to be on the Highway really late. (with all the crazies out there) We are really glad we went and had a great time. It’s really funny how you follow peoples lives daily, but have never meet them. Some peeps might think that’s weird, but I enjoy it and learn so much from others!

When I got home that night my hubby was having a block party without me. We have been hanging out with our neighbors a lot more lately, and I love just sitting out side, eating, talking, drinking and having a good old time.

Saturday night I hosted Bunko at my house. I have so much fun when I play, it’s not just for old people. haha People tease me all the time about playing. But actually the girls that I play with are all in their 20’s and 30’s. I didn’t get a picture of this night, but my husband told me that night that we were LOUD. He was working out in the yard and he could hear us yelling and screaming. Maybe it was the Beeritas that I made????

Our weekend and another project

I hope everyone had an Awesome Easter. We did! We started hiding eggs on Thursday night. I have a 4 year old and he thinks hunting for eggs is so FUN. (but wondered why there wasn’t candy in all of them) I tried to explain to him there would be candy when the Easter Bunny dropped some off.

I had took off on Friday so I was able to get a lot of stuff done. I finally finished my entryway table that I bought in MARCH! Hey I'm a busy girl.
This is what the dresser looked like when I bought it. Old, brown, broken and lonely.

I had a hard time deciding on Red or Turquoise. Both would look great because the wall it is going on is STILL white and big. (hopefully that will be another project to get done in the future) I went with RED. I didn’t prime this dresser. I just sanded it a little, took the handles off, filled the knob holes and repaired a couple drawers. I used our new spray gun and some red paint from Home Depot(not sure the color).

I decided to do glaze on this piece too. I love the way the glaze looks when finished and it covers up some of the imperfections on my hubbys paint job. (I found a few drips) But not going to complain because he was helping me.

I really wanted to use the original knobs on the bottom 3 drawers but one of them was broken. So it wouldn’t work out the way I wanted it to. We ended up drilling out the holes that I patched up. haha I wanted to put 2 on each side instead of one. I found some clear knobs at hobby lobby that had been antiqued, and they were half off and had 16 in stock. So it was an easy choice for me.

Here it is finished! I'm in Love again.

I will be putting some decorations on it and adding more to the wall behind it soon, but wanted to take a picture of it since I just finished it last night. I love my cute rug from Hobby Lobby. (half off too) I just love Hobby Lobby. Don’t you?

Birthday Bash

So Tuesday was my Birthday and I have the most wonderful friends and family! It was a GREAT day! My coworkers bought me lunch from Pei Wei…yummo! and our secretary Linda made me an awesome homemade cheesecake. My sweet hunnee surprised me last Wednesday with a suite at the Mavericks game!

We had an amazing time! We rarely get time without the kids.

Then over the weekend my parents came in town and we all went to dinner and my stud got me this!

It’s a Twist of Dazzle cake! I love it!! Thanks to EVERYBODY who made my day soooo wonderful! And of course my wonderful friend, coworker and business partner is the BOMB!!!

Garage Sales

For the last few years we get a group together and hit up this BIG neighborhood garage sale. Sometimes we find good stuff and sometimes we find nada. This year I would say we did pretty good. I was not looking for anything in particular, but the other girls were looking for some furniture. As soon as we started ,we discovered the Big purchase for the day. Kristin found her the perfect dresser for only $75 bucks. It was in excellent condition, and solid wood.

I can’t wait to see what Kristin does to this dresser for her entry way. My friend Amber found her an entry way table too for only $10 dollars and she sent me a picture of it tonight and she is doing a great job on her first makeover.

The next steal of the day was this roll of Burlap for only $5.00. Yeah you heard me right 5. The lady probably thought I was crazy. But hey burlap is in right now and I want to make something out of it. (even though I can't sew) I will come up with something and I promise to share with my friends.

Here are a few of my other purchases. A set of candle holders and gold planter that I thought would be really cute painted, and used in my kitchen.

I also got this cute picture frame for $10.00 and it still had the original price tag on it. Who knows it might get a little spray paint too.

Now this lady knows how to garage sale. ha-ha I just had to get a picture of this.

Quick re-do for the bathroom and someones Birthday

I want to Wish Kristin a Happy Birthday!! She is a wonderful friend, co-worker, and business partner. I couldnt survive without you at work. I hope you have a great one and I can't wait to order Pei Wei. (who evers b-day it is, gets to choose what we eat) YUMMO

I decided on Tuesday that this cabinet needed a re-do. It was white and I had glazed it a few years back, but every time I look at it I think of smeared poop. Gross I know! I sanded as much of the glaze off that I could, took out the glass and the knobs.

I decided to use Eden spray paint. It’s a Home Depot color and I'm in Love with it. I sprayed a couple coats on it.

After it was good and dry, I put the drawer and glass back in. I found these black knobs that I had not used before and lucky enough I had 3 of them.

I think it turned out so cute! And it only took me a couple hours to complete.

On another note, we went garage saling this weekend and found some good ~~junk~~ stuff. More about that tomorrow.

When I moved into my house the previous owners had never updated anything in the house. And they left me with this little beauty

My entryway ceiling is about 30ft up! I had about a dozen guys come over to give me a bid to have it replaced (cuz 30ft up is not on my DIY list) and they all said the same thing...NO! I was soooo disapointed and frustrated because I had the perfect chandelier! I picked up this awesome piece of electric wonderfulness for FREE!! SUCKERS!

I took this baby home and got to work. I shoved some paper into the holes where the light bulbs go and I got to sprayin!

Pretty sure that spray paint is the greatest thing ever invented. One problem I can’t seem to find anyone willing to hang this beauty..GRRR! One day out of the blue I found a wonderful courageous sucker. So this is how it had to go down (or up) even the neighbors came over to watch.

I ABSOLUTELY could not watch this guy do this! I mean wow! 30ft up on that board holding a very large chandelier. I truly thought I would be sick. But when it was done I was so happy I actually think I cried!

My crappy picture taking skills do it no justice! (I swear I am going to learn how to use a camera) When you turn this thing on it is like a airport runway. It puts out so much light that it heats the upstairs hahaha. One down, one to go

REALLY mister builder???? How do expect anyone to change a light bulb in a globe with screws 30 ft up!! Stupid! (please ignore all the dust still on the wall from the stairs redo) But I have a plan for this too! Can’t wait to show you!

Cole is my first born child and this is his first Prom! He has a sweet girlfriend named Tristynn. So at our High School it has become a tradition to do cool stuff to ask the person you want to take to Prom. So we made this cute banner! He was so excited (it was so cute) So in the dark of night while she slept we went to her house and put the sign in her yard

He had a lot of fun! He sent me a message from school saying she loved it this morning when she went out to leave for school. I hear all the neighbors and her parents loved it too! So I was sneaking around last night instead of making my post. But I’m soooo happy to make memories like this with my son.

My dresser Before and After

My husband had decided we needed a BIG flat screen to go on the wall, so I decided I needed a big piece of furniture to re-do to go underneath it. So I got on craigslist found a piece of furniture and BAMM my hubby was driving to Keller to pick it up. (What a great guy) I paid $50.00 for a real wood dresser in great condition. This is what It looked like. (after I took the knobs and cabinets off) Now this was my first piece of furniture to re-do, but I figured I could do it since 1. I'm pretty crafty and 2. Half the blogs I read redo furniture all the time. Easy Breezy right???

Behind those cabinets were more drawers, but we took them out and wanted to keep it as shelves to put our DVD player, radio and Wii.
Me and hubby sanded it and used an off white paint. It took 2 coats. Halfway point it looked like this and I decided to leave the top a dark wood color.

After we got it completely painted it was time to antique it. I researched this a lot because I had never done this and didn't want to totally mess it up and have to start over. So I found a glaze stain and painted over each part of the dresser and let it set for a few minutes. Then I took paper towels and old rags and wiped the stain off. The stain stayed in the cracks and gave the white a glaze look instead WHITE. After all the antiquing was done, we took the stain and gave the top 2 coats. A couple days later we finished it off with a clear coat, and this is my final project. I love the original knobs but not brass, so I painted them and dark bronze. I love my dresser! I get compliments all the time and some of my friends think I spent a fortune for it! Shhhh don't tell.

So Camie and I work with this guy!

His name is Dan and he has LOTS of stories that he tells us all the time. And according to him he grew up here!

And he loves to do farmy things like use a tiller. Well one day he convinced me that I could use one too to till my front yard. Probably doesn’t sound like that big of deal to most people but let me show you where I grew up

So this is where I grew up. My man even teases me and calls me silver spoon. Soooo needless to say I have never touched a tiller. But I’m not scared. It couldn’t be more scary than how my yard looks (grrr!) So Dan brought over this little beauty

I knew I needed to gear up for this challenge so I needed a few things so I gathered my safety goggles and my Ipod. I wanted to make sure I didn’t get thirsty so I got my drink holder too.

So the yard was looking REALLY bad and full of weeds…ugh!

And it only took and hour to do this to it!!!! Do you hear my excitement??? You know the yard was bad if it looks better all torn up!!

And I am sooooo proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone and it was soooo easy!

Especially since I ended up paying my son to do it (probably because it truly was a little to out of my comfort zone and he needed money for Prom) I will keep you posted as the yard comes together. Not really sure what the next step is…I think I might have to hire someone????

Do you ever have those days (or weeks, or months) that you feel so ~~busy, confused, lost your brain~~ or just mental? and don't even know what your supposed to be doing? Yeah well that's how my life is MOST of the time. Here is a picture to prove my multi-tasking life to you.

My daughter's softball games have started and my son is playing soccer (or on the team)ha and Twist of Dazzle is booming, I work a full time job besides Twist of Dazzle. So sometimes I don't know if I am coming or going, but honestly if I wasn't super busy I wouldn't know what to do with myself. My whole life I have been a busy girl so I'm used to it! Anyways the point of all of that is, I don't have an Awesome post planned out for yall. Instead I decided this week to do something more simple and just show you pictures of things I am liking right now. (I see others do this in Blog Land so here I go)

Finally the stairs are done!!

Hi! Kristin here and I will be blogging for you on Thursdays. I promise I will get better as I do it more hahaha (hopefully) I’m soooo new to this so please be patient with me
Well it has been a long time coming but the stairs are finally finished!! I know you can’t tell in this picture but these stairs are a nightmare! The previous owner did a REALLY bad DIY install. Each stair had some weird lip on it and each member of the family has fallen down them multiple times!!

So out they came (they already look better!) I was trying to save some $$$ so I my plan was to leave the railing and just sand them and stain to match (do you know how much sanding goes into sanding each spindle??? TONS! Sooooo out they went and the treads were replaced.

Ha! I would have been happy to leave them like this. But the rest of my Brady Bunch Family wouldn’t have it…they said I am to clumsy to not have railings
We LOVE them! And know nobody falls down them (especially me)

Welcome to My New Weekly column.
Not sure if my title is cheesy, but I'm going with it for now. I thought I would start off with a room makeover. We moved into our house in 2005 and have painted half of the rooms, except for my daughters. She just turned 11 and wanted a bedroom makeover and informed us that her room was the only bedroom not painted. So guess what color she picked? PURPLE! She found a bedspread she really liked and we went from there. My hubby was thrilled we were going to spend all weekend painting a purple room.

Here is her room before the fun begin. (I wish I would have taken a picture before we took everything down, ohh well)

We have been thinking of ways that we can be more vocal and not just talk about our crosses (boring). Not only do we have full time jobs, make crosses on the side, and have families, but we also like to re-do furniture, update rooms, have parties, hang with our friends, get in shape or just like to talk. So we have decided that we will each have our own day that we will just talk or show you whatever we want. This is a hard one for me. I used to read all the time when my kids were young. But I really don't read much anymore because I don't really have enough energy by the end of the day. I know that sad! I love to read and I should make more time. Maybe I will pick it up again and see how it works out.

I dont really read that much! I have read all of the Harry Potter Books, and the Twilight series, and yes I am 30. The only other book that I have read in the last year or 2 is Eat, Pray and Love (really liked it). I have a hard time getting into the book and it keeping my attention, but I will say I had NO problem with any of these.

This is a hard one for me. There are so many things that I wish I could change. But today I am going to pick the insanity of hoarding. I wish I could take over everyone of these homes! I don't even know how anyone can even think straight in this. I am totally opposite of a hoarder. I KEEP NOTHING! I get rid of everything all the time. I have no collections of anything. I don't even framed pictures of my family because I feel like it looks like I have to much stuff hanging out on dressers and side tables. I HATE clutter! It makes me feel out of control. I make my bed every morning hahahaha I sound a little like a I might have a clean OCD issue. I really don't, the world does not come to an end if it is not perfect.

my wonderful business partner knew that turning 40 recently was feeling soooo painful for me. YUCK!!!! I was soooo upset....gaww....really? 40? Anyway she got all my girlfriends together and they surprised me with a fun night of pole dancing lessons!! We all had so much fun! It looks easy but let me assure you it is not and we where all very sore for days to follow. It's a GREAT workout and if I could have a pole in the house to workout on everyday... I WOULD!

Yep! The IPAD has had a huge impact on my life, as of Christmas. I am sooo in love with this marvelous piece of technology that I am not sure how I have ever lived without it! I love love love it!

Day 18- A picture of your biggest insecurity

Day 18 is supposed to be a picture of our biggest insecurity. I'm pretty sure that blog land does not want to see an actual picture of my biggest insecurity. You see I am a cancer survivor. I have had ovarian cancer and breast cancer. I was diagnosed when I was 30. I am now 40. I have had multiple surgeries so I have many scars! I hate them! My beautiful hunk of a man surprised me a couple of years ago with a gift of a tattoo to cover up my scar on my pelvis from my hysterectomy. So that scar is now covered up with beautiful art work and I love it. Unfortunately that is not my only scar :( I have to many scars to cover up with tattoos so I just look at them as my scars of war that I won!

My belly!! I really dont think Im too FAT in the gut for a bikini(ok maybe I am), but believe me I have seen many of women bigger than me wearing them. But I get so paranoid and self conscious when I wear one, I wish had more confidence when I wear one. Or when I wear jeans and feel like my gut is hanging over the top, (even though it's probably not that bad, but I see it)

Not sure what my life will be like after my kids leave for college. I have three years left until my youngest leaves. I'm trying to act like I am excited until I have an empty house, but really it makes me so sad I can't hardly even think about it without crying.

I would have to say My Hubby! Honestly there are days that he gets on my nerves and drives me crazy, but Im not sure what I would do without him. We have fun together! He does so much for me and the kiddos. He is a good dad and great husband. I really do have the best hubby ever. (did I mention he does the laundry) woohooo.

We have a few new items here at Twist of Dazzle!

We now offer magnets. We have glittered, decoupaged, and rhinestoned them. These are great small gifts to have handy for teachers, friends, or co-workers.

How stinking cute are these new Photo Blocks!! Hopefully, we will have a BOY one to post soon. We are still trying to think of a cute idea for our little boys!!!

Yes again we both agree on this picture. Both being from TEXAS, we love the heat and the beach. Now don't get me wrong, when it is 110 outside it does get a little old, but we would rather be on a beach in the sun than stuck in the house with snow and ice.

Man just looking at these pictures, brings back the great memories we have at the beach. Who wants to go?????

Besides the birth of my children, my favorite memory is moving into my

new house two years ago. I love this house and as a single mom of two
I wanted lots of space for room to grow. It has plenty of space for
the kids to have all their friends over. And it has an office for me and twistofdazzle.blogspot.com. to store all our inventory

Camie- Wow this picture is really hard. Believe me there are a few things in college that happened that I wish I could forget, but really don't want to post those picture, and the actual giving birth of my son was not something I try to remember either. B/c it was NOT fun! But I love him and I guess worth it. (J/K) it was.

Kristin- Unfortunately I have burned these pictures, but I would say marrying my ex-husband was something I wish I could forget.
